Private Apartment
In the historic center of Milan, a private apartment becomes the setting for a precise dialogue between architecture and furnishings — a project conceived by Matteo Nunziati in collaboration with Turri, where every element, from wall paneling to bespoke cabinetry, contributes to a single, coherent interior score.
The project draws inspiration from the composed grandeur of Milan’s 1930s residential tradition, and in particular from the poetic rationalism of Piero Portaluppi — a sensibility rooted in balance, precision, and the quiet pursuit of the enduring over the spectacular.
Light travertine floors lead into a living area wrapped in eucalyptus wood panels, anchored by a custom bookcase with vertical travertine dividers and a leather-quilted backrest.
Bronzed metal portals frame each passageway with theatrical restraint, while a raw travertine feature wall in the informal dining space introduces an intentional, organic counterpoint.
A bronze chandelier — designed by Nunziati for Tato — presides over the formal dining room with sculptural authority.
In the sleeping quarters, finely quilted leather panels envelop the walls, creating a setting of quiet, considered intimacy around a bespoke atelier bed.
