Tela armchair – Rubelli casa

Tela is an armchair in which form and materials used (specifically wood and fabric), in a close and inescapable dialogue with each other, reinforce and enhance each other. A great constructive wisdom is counterpointed by the maximum enhancement of the fabric. The seat structure is made of solid wood. Tela comes in two woods: natural walnut, which enhances its elegance and brightness, or mocha-stained ash, which emphasizes its sinuosity. All the construction details, such as the original fabric-covered joint between the backrest, legs and armrests, as well as the other, slightly rounded joints, are designed to enhance the absolute craftsmanship of this piece. The distinguishing feature of this armchair is to be found in the fabric that makes up the seat and backrest and is coupled with leather: an absolutely novel technical solution that, by giving consistency to the fabric, makes it a structural element without, however, depriving it of its inherent elegance and preciousness. Canvas is an expression of a light solidity. A well-executed oxymoron.
